CFA’S ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION CONCERT EVENT
“MR. LAS VEGAS IN BOCA RATON”
FEATURING WAYNE NEWTON & HIS VEGAS SHOW
Saturday, December 9, 2005

BOCA RATON, FL (October 11, 2005) -- From the history of the electric entertainment allure of the main stage at Vegas’s Stardust Resort & Casino to the ever-present excitement of the Centre for the Arts (CFA) at Mizner Park, Wayne Newton--Mr. Las Vegas--will bring his talent and showmanship to swoon and regale those attending the CFA’s anniversary concert event at the Count de Hoernle Amphitheater in Mizner Park on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 8 p.m.

As the headliner of the CFA’s anniversary concert event appropriately titled “Mr. Las Vegas in Boca Raton,” Newton will pull out all the stops for a high energy Vegas show as he performs many of his showtime favorites. The evening’s program will include an intermission with concession options, and an opportunity to participate in a raffle with impressive prizes, including airfare for two to enjoy a weekend in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel.

“We are delighted to have Wayne Newton to kick-off our anniversary celebration with his Boca Raton concert performance debut,” said Wendy Larsen, CFA chairperson. “He is a show business icon with the energy, panache, and eclectic range of depth of ten consummate performers rolled into one.”

Larsen added, “even more importantly, we are thrilled to have the participation of the event sponsors which will add to the success of this event.” Event sponsors include, First Southern Bank; Fugazy International Travel, Inc.; Palm Beach County Cultural Council, PCI Concessions, Inc. and MGM Grand Hotel.

CFA Anniversary Concert Event Chairperson Yvonne Boice noted that “Newton’s multi-generational audience appeal will be a big draw with our current CFA patrons as well as attract new friends to the CFA’s diverse year round calendar of performing arts events and concerts.”

She added that there are plenty of opportunities in which to enjoy the concert, with proceeds to be used to support the CFA’s children’s and other cultural programming. Tickets range from $50 for reserved seating, $65 for preferred seating and $100 for priority seating (rows 11-13) to $150 for Gold Circle seating (first 10 rows). A limited number of VIP and Corporate Boxes in the Colonnade are available ranging from $2,500 to $10,000. Colonnade Boxes will include an exclusive pre-event reception, VIP box concert seating, as well as a backstage dessert reception after the concert.

“We expect a big showing from the Wayne Newton International Friends Club that is headquartered in Palm Beach County,” added Boice. “Tickets will go fast, so we encourage fans ‘of all ages’ to reserve their tickets as soon as possible. Companies should also consider hosting their holiday parties for employees and clients at the concert…it will be quite a memorable evening for all who join us.”

A lot has come and gone since Wayne Newton first set the entertainment world on fire as a precocious, big-voice six-year-old. When Elvis Presley was still driving a truck, Wayne almost ten years his junior had already sung before the president, toured with the Grand Ole Opry road show and released his first record. While the Beatles were still scrambling for their early Liverpool gigs, Wayne, who was two years younger than John Lennon, was playing Las Vegas and appearing on the Jackie Gleason and Lucille Ball shows. In a business that is, at best, volatile, and success sometimes short-lived, Wayne has performed live, at last count, to more than 30 million people, and on television and record to many times that number.

The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park is a not-for-profit organization that serves as the social, cultural and education center for residents of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and Broward County, and all of South Florida. To date, the amphitheater has presented more than 160 programs, attracting 330,000-plus participants.
