Gala Announces Its Success
Boca
Raton, FL (January 24,
2003) - The Centre for the
Arts at Mizner Park announced
the success of their first-ever
fundraising Gala, Music
in the Moonlight featuring
legendary tenor, Jose Carreras,
held on January 17th. The
concert gala took place on
a record-setting cold weather
night in South Florida and
the money raised was designated
to support programming. Gala
supporters enjoyed a pre-concert
cocktail reception, the concert
and a post-concert dinner
in a lavishly decorated tent
adjacent to the amphitheater.
A pre-concert Brass Ensemble
and post-concert String Ensemble
were provided by Jeff Kaye
Music. A special post-concert
visit was made by Jose Carreras
thanking all the patrons who
made the night special and
who worked so hard to bring
the vision of the Centre for
the Arts at Mizner Park to
fruition. Mr. Carreras signed
autographs and posed for pictures
with Gala sponsors and underwriters.
Marta
Batmasian served as the chairperson
for Music in the Moonlight
Gala. Ms. Batmasian is a member
of the Board of Directors
and co-owner of the development
firm, Investments, Ltd. The
Galas major corporate
benefactor was Merrill Lynch
and Byron Meads, Managing
Director. Other underwriting
sponsors of the Gala include:

live auction was held with
the sole item being a specially
designed platinum and diamond
pin, a dancer reaching for
a star. This pin was inspired
by Master Design Groups
logo created for the Centre,
and was purchased for $10,000
by Mrs. Madelyn Savarick.
This beautiful pin was designed
and produced by Les Bijoux
Jewelers in Mizner Park and
donated for the event. Additional
pins, also donated by Les
Bijoux Jewelers, reduced in
size and cast in 14 carat
gold, were distributed in
the favor bags given to guests
as they concluded the evening
and post-concert dinner.
All proceeds from the Music
in the Moonlight Gala
benefit the Centre for the
Arts at Mizner Parks
programming development and
operations. The Centre for
the Arts at Mizner Park is
a not-for-profit organization,
dedicated to creating a cultural
heart for the entire South
Florida community, located
at Mizner Park in Boca Raton.
The Centre is currently developing
a three phase project on the
north end parcel of land at
Mizner Park, which when completed,
will include the Count de
Hoernle outdoor Amphitheater
(Phase
II) and the indoor performing
arts hall and arts education
building (Phase
III). The Boca Raton Museum
of Art (Phase
I), located to the west
of the Count de Hoernle Amphitheater.
