
Centre for the Arts at Mizner
Park Celebrates with a Demolition
Party
BOCA
RATON, FL (03/07/02) - The
Centre for the Arts at Mizner
Park's Board of Directors,
supporters and guests celebrated
the commencement of demolition
and construction for the new
Count de Hoernle amphitheater
at Mizner Park. An intimate
champagne reception was held
on the existing Mizner Park
amphitheater stage as the
new Count de Hoernle amphitheater
architectural designs and
renderings were shown to Centre
for the Arts guests.
"We
are so pleased that the new
amphitheater, Phase II of
the Centre for the Arts at
Mizner Park, is being realized.
We are truly grateful that
our donors and supporters
are delighted to build this
cultural legacy for our community,"
said Wendy Larsen, chair of
the Board of Directors for
the Centre.
The
Centre for the Arts at Mizner
Park is a not-for-profit organization
dedicated to creating a cultural
heart for the entire South
Florida community located
at Mizner Park in Boca Raton.
The
Centre is currently developing
a three phase project on the
north end parcel of land at
Mizner Park in Boca Raton.
When completed, the facility
will include the Count de
Hoernle outdoor amphitheater
and the JM Family Enterprises
Arts Pavilion (Phase II) and
an indoor performing arts
hall and arts education building
(Phase III). The Boca Raton
Museum of Art (Phase I), located
to the west of the Count de
Hoernle Amphitheater, is complete
and opened to the public in
January 2001.
The
Centre has commenced construction
on March 18, 2002 on Phase
II - the Count de Hoernle
amphitheater at Mizner Park
which will replace the existing
amphitheater.
Also
included in the $6 million
Phase II is the construction
of a landmark tower, decorative
fountain, concert green, public
restrooms, full backstage
amenities and perimeter two-tier
colonnade for concert seating.
Unique
giving opportunities remain
for Phase II including prominent
naming
opportunities at the Count
de Hoernle amphitheater and
engraved
paver stones.
