Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park Celebrates with a Demolition Party

BOCA RATON, FL (03/07/02) - The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park's Board of Directors, supporters and guests celebrated the commencement of demolition and construction for the new Count de Hoernle amphitheater at Mizner Park. An intimate champagne reception was held on the existing Mizner Park amphitheater stage as the new Count de Hoernle amphitheater architectural designs and renderings were shown to Centre for the Arts guests.

"We are so pleased that the new amphitheater, Phase II of the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, is being realized. We are truly grateful that our donors and supporters are delighted to build this cultural legacy for our community," said Wendy Larsen, chair of the Board of Directors for the Centre.

The Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating a cultural heart for the entire South Florida community located at Mizner Park in Boca Raton.

The Centre is currently developing a three phase project on the north end parcel of land at Mizner Park in Boca Raton. When completed, the facility will include the Count de Hoernle outdoor amphitheater and the JM Family Enterprises Arts Pavilion (Phase II) and an indoor performing arts hall and arts education building (Phase III). The Boca Raton Museum of Art (Phase I), located to the west of the Count de Hoernle Amphitheater, is complete and opened to the public in January 2001.

The Centre has commenced construction on March 18, 2002 on Phase II - the Count de Hoernle amphitheater at Mizner Park which will replace the existing amphitheater.

Also included in the $6 million Phase II is the construction of a landmark tower, decorative fountain, concert green, public restrooms, full backstage amenities and perimeter two-tier colonnade for concert seating.

Unique giving opportunities remain for Phase II including prominent naming opportunities at the Count de Hoernle amphitheater and engraved paver stones.
