Countess de Hoernle Donates Lead Gift to the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park

BOCA RATON, FL – Countess Henrietta de Hoernle recently announced a $1 million gift to the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park for the construction of the new and improved amphitheater, to be named after her late husband. The new Count de Hoernle Amphitheater will replace the temporary amphitheater, which lacked technical capabilities and acoustical qualities sorely needed to stage successful events. The new amphitheater will possess the finest in sound and lighting, along with improved visitor amenities including parking, restrooms, concessions and offices. It will provide a seating area for 5,000 in a unique urban space with a two level colonnade and a state-of-the-art stage, suitable for music, dance and drama.

This lead gift kicks-off a $45 million cultural, civic and educational project that will boast the spectacular outdoor amphitheater surrounded by a two-level colonnade and concert green, a world-class concert hall, and the new Boca Raton Museum of Art. The generosity of the Countess is well documented in our community and her legacy will live on in the heart of Boca Raton for many generations.

Countess de Hoernle hopes that her generous gift will inspire the people in the community to give what they can to help provide a cultural center for all residents of Boca Raton. "It is important to give back to your community and I feel the people of Boca Raton enjoy the free concerts," says the Countess. "Children should always be exposed to culture, so I want to be able to schedule the concerts as soon as possible." The Countess notes that her husband was an avid music lover and that music played a big role in their lives.
